Gift Guide for Men

18 November 2008

The mould is definitely being broken when it comes to men's accessories ; the gifts which men traditionally receive like socks, pens etc. have become so stereotypical that accessories can get overlooked as men's presents; but now with such variety and something to suit everybody this is definetely worth re-considering.

At equip we're sure we have something they don't have! Individual styles can make it hard to decide what to get for anyone and although we don't like to pigeon-hole, we've chosen some categories that men might fit in to, and selected some items from equip that will suit those particular types perfectly.

Gift Ideas...

Everyday Casual:

Key pieces get used over and over again; items like leather belts, bags and wallets are items which can be used everyday and can worn with anything and make excellent gifts. For a great casual look such things as the 'Arlington' men's bag and the 'Stampage' Wallet look great and are finished with such quality they are ideal for everyday use. For anyone who is out-and-about every day with a chilled-out look, a causal style product would be the perfect gift.

A Casual Statement:

If you know someone with a quirky sense of style they can be hard to buy clothes for but going for statement accessories is a safer and better option; and we have plenty of them! You could try choosing a classic item with a modern twist and those such as the 'Bad Boy' Trilby hat or a Leather Island belt for example. For anyone who does has a different sense of style or likes to challenge those around them with what they wear then a statement piece is definitely for them. You could try some trouser braces, worn loose hanging down they make great impact, a Tokyo Flash watch has it's 'unique time-telling concept' or a Fi-Hi bag with internal powered speakers are all good options!

In the Office:

It is a common idea that when you're at work you cannot incorporate any individuality or style into the 'Suited and Booted' look. This is untrue, there are items such as jewellery and ties which can add a subtle and personal element of style, and this is a great gift idea for Christmas, as you can choose timeless pieces which reflect individual style, and these always make a nice conversation piece in the work place.

It seems like everyone is in a rush, whether it is going to work in the city or escaping for the weekend our lives have never been so full. If that sounds like someone you know, they're going to need something to put all their kit in, and a classic overnight bag which can be used for travelling, exhibitions or short-holidays, and a smart organiser is an obvious gift for anyone who is always on the go with their work.

Board Culture:

The surf and skate look is a style that has been influenced by the board sports culture, and is an image which is well aware of the power of accessories. It's a look that can be changed and individualised easily with accessories; wallet chainsunderwear or head wear are all things which can create an individual look. Not only is it a style statement, in most cases, men's accessories for this genre balance fashion and function as well, and for this reason they make great gift choices.
