Festival Season is about to commence...What will you need?

24 April 2009

The clocks have gone forward, it is lighter in the evenings and the sun has begun to shine...festival season has begun. As an avid Glastonbury goer for the last 10 years it teaches you to be prepared (and the mud will always get you). But whether it's sun or rain, wind or snow festivals are there for you to party, let yourself go and let your look go wild. Using accessories you can instantly change your look but a lot of them also have a practical element to help with your survival over the festival weekends. Double win!

So...here is our guide to looking good and getting through the festival season this year. Check out the links too so you know what is on and where to go...make the most of this summer in 2009. We have broken it down into the essentials you need and the looks you may want to go for. We hope it helps out over the next few months.

THE ESSENTIALS:

If there is one thing to wear at a festival it is a hat. It protects you from the elements, makes you stand out so you mates can see you in a crowd and it will also cover up the four day old hair and dirt! so check these out below:

Unfortunately with the tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people roaming around the fields, security can be an issue whilst you are weaving in and out of everyone. Personal belongings have a tendency to disappear, and when all you can remember is ordering 2 litres of cider at the Brothers bus you'll panic when you can't find your wallet later. Relax, the solution is here, the easy answer is to use a wallet/key chain. They look good and keep everything you need attached to your side...also make sure you have a good zipped wallet.

Scarves are not only a key item to wear but they are a festival must have. They look great and keep off the late night/early morning chill and can act as a mask; as we all know the toilet situation will be difficult...it ain't pretty.

Depending what the weather gods decide or how much mud diving you actually get up to, a water resistant watch is ideal for a festival to keep track of when you favorite band comes on and not worry about the elements. We've got plenty of good options and several are either LED or have a light (see the casios, ours ALL have light-up displays) this is essential if you got to know the time later on.

bag is a must at a festival. The daily essentials are needed more than ever when your roaming around Reading, V or Leeds. If you brave taking your mobile and wallet to the stages of course they can fit in your pocket but in a bag they are covered and safely at your side with secure zipped, poppered or buckled pockets. Don't fancy the queues at the bar much? You'll need one to carry the essential bottle of water, beer, vodka, and all the other stuff you may need on walkabout can be kept all in one place ready to use.

So the morning after the night before is never a good look. The answer to this though is easy, just where a pair of sunglasses. They always look good, you will be outside so it will not look out of place and on a practical note they will protect your eyes for harmful UV rays.
