Men's Winter Fashion

Scarves are essential accessories for men and not just to keep us warm during the winter months. This designer neckwear is more stylish than ever with a multitude of colours, patterns, length and materials to choose from, and that is before you have even decided how you are going to wear it.

Contemporary Neckscarves

Whilst traditional scarves are long, woollen and plain you can now make a serious fashion statement with contemporary garments that won’t compromise your overall style. The variety of colours, vibrant designs and patterns is bigger than ever before. Tassels at the ends of a neckscarf are down to personal choice but they are certainly a big trend at the moment. Size matters in this case and the dimensions are all important when deciding on how you are going to wear it.

Winter Fashion Accessories

The material your scarf is made from will depend on whether you want a strictly practical neck-warmer or a pure fashion accessory. For the best protection during the winter, you can’t go wrong with a classic woollen or wool mix scarf. If you want to show off a bit more detail, there are plaited wool scarves with interesting knit work patterns. You may be surprised how much protection a thick cotton scarf provides against the winter chill and they can be more comfortable to wear and easier to wash. Sheer scarves similar to those Russell Brand wears are made either from thin crinkled cotton or lurex. This material clearly provides the least protection from the cold but who cares when it looks so good.

Mens Designer Scarves

The most important aspect of any scarf is arguably the way you wear it. There are loads of ways in which you can wear them, depending entirely on personal preference. However, particular styles can only be achieved if you pick the right design, material and appropriate length and width.

  • A great look is to wear your scarf in the fashion made famous by Jude Law. Make a loop with the middle of the scarf and insert the two ends through the loop. This is achieved most effectively by using a short ‘skinny’ (narrow) cotton or wool scarf.
  • A classic way of wearing your neckscarf is to start with the accessory resting on the back of your neck, wrapping either side around your neck and allowing the ends to hang down. This works best with long and thick woollen scarves.
  • A really current way of wearing a crinkled cotton or lurex sheer scarf is in the style of a simple tie; loose around the neck, either with the knot at the top of your front or lower down.

Don’t forget, these are just a few simple suggestions so be creative and show off your new scarf in a way that suits you best.
